They never cared about LGBTQ. These companies are not your friends. They are not your allies. They do not care about your cause or existence. They are filthy parasites that only see the almighty dollar.
There was once a point where gay people were profitable. Now they aren’t, so corporations are now evacuating en masse.
If white power was profitable, these companies would be slinging slurs and having swatstika logos immediately. And I’m not even exaggerating.
It’s time you realise that Übercorps do not give a shit about me, they do not give a shit about you, or anyone you care about. They only care about your money.
Corporate social responsibility? Welfare requirements? All strategies used to save face and get more profit. Whilst Shell is yapping on about how much they are moving to renewables, they are busy destroying rural Nigerian communities by dumping oil into their rivers. Microsoft is showing how they respect LGBTQ whilst they give the IDF servers used to bomb innocent children. Disney positions itself as moral good while it erases gay people. McDonald’s says it’s “bringing good food to us all” whilst actively making the entirety of South America obese.
None of these parasites ever cared about anything other than money.
I was wondering that. ik they don’t care, but it has become a meme at this point.
It’s no longer profitable to do. Corporations don’t give a shit about human rights if it hurts their profits.
Conservative neo liberals are on the rise in most of the western world so corporations do not think this masquerade is profitable anymore. Corporations never cared about lgbt crowd.
Those logos were strange in the first place, so now, when the USA social circumstances don’t demand them anymore, they are shifting out.
It always seemed to me like once that sort of pagentry became mandatory (through social pressure even if not actual legal requirement) then it also lost its meaning.
Like all the banners wishing shoppers a merry Christmas. Nobody actually thinks that the managers of those stores actually care if you have a merry Christmas. It’s just what stores do to mark the start of November.
Start of October
Start of September
Which is the same for every company regardless of country. Unless you only see the colors red and yellow 🤡
They are hiding from honour in order to make more money. Capitalism is the farthest thing from nurturing ecology and humanity.
Target got wrecked.

They had fucking fantastic pride merch that year, too.
I’ve always found the idea superficial and frankly vain that planting a rainbow flag in front of your HQ would somehow label you a friend to the queer community. Talk with your actions.
Rainbow Bandit still at large
People were calling out companies for pandering or appropriating pride for profit, so they stopped doing it. The woke paradox. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
No. Trump won and made being decent a liability.
Yep, it’s worth noting that many of these companies that stopped doing Pride logos have government contracts. The Trump admin has openly threatened retaliation against companies that engage in “woke” practices, and most of these companies with gov contracts would go under if their contracts are pulled.
This is entirely it. A corporation can’t care about people, but the people in the corporation can.
Business interests have forced a lot of companies to avoid doing things that would offend the right, lest they pull government contracts for appearing to support people.
The people in the businesses who give a shit aren’t going to expend energy defending something that ultimately doesn’t matter, like the logo being rainbow colored. The company I work for is one of the ones that didn’t change it’s logo, and it was explicitly communicated to be because it would risk stupid amounts of money from government contracts.
More efforts were put into things that actually matter. Instead of eliminating DEI, it was relabeled EEOC compliance and left unchanged, without much fanfare. (“Jen is transitioning from head of our DEI office to leading our office of EEOC compliance. Her responsibilities and reports remain the same”). Our benefits were quietly extended to cover a few more cases for relocation assistance to “cover new sources of employee relocation interest”. Travel expenses related to reproductive healthcare became covered by the health plan, as well as for gender identity related care.
The company is a heartless profit seeking beast. The people in them have the ability to find a way to do the right thing while appeasing the beast, but it takes effort to push for things so they just don’t push for the symbolic gestures.
It’s shitty, and I have to imagine that it kinda stings to have token support deemed non-viable, but the world is also shit right now. :(
Exactly.
It’s both. Criticism of rainbow-washing has made companies scale back in years prior and just this year they’re scaling back more due to conservative backlash.
It has certainly been a slow decline since 2016.
