Mike DeWine Wednesday that will bar transgender students in public and private Ohio schools from using “multi-occupancy facility”—bathrooms, as well as locker rooms, changing room, or shower rooms—that match their gender identity.
There was a post a few weeks back about a school that solved this problem by converting a “multi-occupancy facility” into private toilet stalls, and converted the handwashing area into a “public space” instead of leaving it as part of the “multi-occupancy facility”.
And they pissed off pretty much everyone.
They did convert the stalls into separate rooms with full-height walls and doors, but to convert the handwashing area to a public space, they installed a window from the handwashing area to the hallway.
Almost like there are various priorities and different buckets of spend for schools. Safety is always a priority in balance with everything else. You really think bathroom renos come out of teachers salary? Lol
I’m saying it should come out of safety budgets. I would assume a school board might have a couple dollars for that. But ya, you’re the expert here internet man! You’ve seen them talk before!!! lol
“Just pull money out of nowhere, don’t ask me what you should cut, you just need a budget!!!1”
So not only have you never been to a school board meeting, you’ve never had to budget for your department or handled anything that has accountability apparently lol
It was a great way (in theory) to sidestep a bullshit law. It increased everyone’s privacy, by doing away with the bullshit partitions we have in most public restrooms.
But it got misrepresented in the press with both sides accusing the other of wanting to spy on kids in the bathroom.

Great solution if every school district has a bunch of cash laying around to throw up a few new walls
Imagine investing directly in students and their safety!!? What a crazy idea.
Yeah! Who cares if every desk and book is 60 years old and our teachers make 35k per year? Let’s spent money on other stuff!!!

lol you’ve never been to a school board meeting, huh? You think they have money set aside for renovations?
