Summary

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called for respect among allies after a heated exchange between U.S. and Polish officials over Ukraine’s reliance on Elon Musk’s Starlink.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio rebuked Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski for suggesting Ukraine might need an alternative provider, calling him “ungrateful.”

Musk dismissed concerns and insisted Starlink would not be shut off after threatening to do so.

Meanwhile, speculation about a Starlink replacement caused a surge in Eutelsat’s stock.

It’s crazy how the US simultaneously wants the world to depend on them while also treating them like second class Allies. But the moment those allies say it’s not worth it and try to form other alliances, the US calls them ungrateful and cries. If you’ve ever seen or been in a abusive relationship, this is what it looks like on a nation to nation situation

His name was universally hated in Poland way before the cheeto man. All this bullshit and how he handled it actually rehabilitated him in lots of people’s eyes.

Was it actually a US-Poland spat?

I thought it was just Musk running his mouth on Twitter as per.

If that’s the case I think it’s a dangerous game for the wider world to conflate Musk’s actions with the US as a whole

Edit: Seems like it was also US official/s taking part. What a wonderful world we live in 🙃

I can only imagine what happens when you see the words, President of the United States Donald Trump.

Your dry cleaning bill must be astronomical.

I wonder if the name Donald will have a sharp decline in popularity (not that it has ever been a popular name) as a result of his brutish authoritarianism the way that the name Adolf did after World War II.

      PM of Poland.

I guess many Americans haven’t heard of him, which is odd given Poland is the first bastion against Russia and a very strong US ally. Well was anyway.

You know everything there is to know. If you also admit that Maria Curie-SKŁODOWSKA was Polish and concentration camps German, then we can grant you the title of honorary Pole… But please for the love of God… DO NOT confuse the two.
