Gee, whyever would he think that? Could it be because he’s been breaking the law for years and years, and nobody’s done anything about it? Because he staged a fucking coup, and the DoJ rolled over? That he’s essentially been issuing open threats to anyone who opposes him, and everyone’s capitulating? That he’s openly accepting bribes and everyone’s just opening their wallets? No, couldn’t be any of those things.
Meanwhile, anyone who has previously opposed him has stepped down or stepped away from their roles in basically full and utter shame after accomplishing nothing. Years of bluster and screaming about smoking guns, all swept away because they wouldn’t do anything. They wanted their role and positions of power, and when it mattered, retreated to be nothing more than a cowardly footnote soon to be deleted from history by the current regime.
How to Ruin your Legacy 101: Written by Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, and Co.
I don’t think Smith is to blame here. Garland 100% though
Smith had his own shortcomings, but agreed not nearly on level with fuckin Garland. He was a face of the Trump opposition who also resigned without results or prosecution, though. The clock was on the wall, and whether or not it was moving too fast or too slow is neither here nor there. I don’t think we will remember the details of appeals or tactics used in time, but the result of the case and the return of Trump to power. Whether those details are lost or deleted remain to be seen.
Biden could have given instruction to make this the highest priority and arrested Trump on day one, which is what he should have done. Trump committed treason at the highest level, and Biden normalized it.
Instead they waited 3 years until after he’d already secured the Republican nomination to even file charges.
All this fucking talk about DEI moral panic and yet these utterly fucking inadequate politicians get do-over after do-over because its “their turn”.
Sick to my stomach over them.
I wish he could have just moved forward unilaterally
Maybe next time…lmfao
Not to mention the supreme court ruled he literally can’t be prosecuted.
Yeah, but u know, Biden did what every other sitting president including trump did by supporting Israel, so they’re basically the same
Yep, he’s been breaking the law since the 70s and hasn’t faced any accountability for all this time.
Yeah, and a bunch of people voted for him. They did that because a bunch of social media psyops convinced them of a bunch of nonsense. So I don’t think they want what he will do. But, he wouldn’t be wrong to conclude he has a mandate to break the law. I think if you asked the average Trump voter if Trump can break the law, they would say, “Of course.”
“Thinks”? He does. Otherwise he’d be rotting in a tiny cell years ago.
And lets also not forget he repeatedly claimed he knew nothing about Project 2025. Not the policies. Not the people behind it.
Now he’s claiming a mandate to execute the plan he denied having any knowledge of.
Is this not what Democrats handed him by failing to prosecute?
You mean Republicans by not voting for removal after successful impeachment BOTH TIMES and thus barring him from office, right???
We didn’t even have to get here and it’s not the Dems fault we did.
Expecting Republicans to do the ethical thing while requiring them to oppose their party is foolish. They are party over country.
They would put an accidental bite from the wrapper of a McGriddle over this country.
Only if the mcgriddle wasn’t woke
Why not both? It only would have taken one of them to actually do something, yet neither did. Sharing is caring, after all.
He does. He is a criminal, he said before he will do criminal things, he promised again he will do criminal things, the people that elected him want him to do criminal things.
Why would anyone expect him not to do criminal things?
Uh, as long as the GOP refuse to hold him responsible, he absolutely does.
Why wouldn’t he? He’s been let off Scott free for everything. Good for him if we are too stupid to stop him.
The Supreme Court gave it to him
That’s because of judicial cowardice.
And complicitness
Enabled by democrats. Who sat back and finger wagged the whole time.
Not true, they also started a bunch of limp wristed investigations with agonizing, unforgivable slowness, and pardoned a bunch of their friends when it inevitably didn’t work.
For sure. But I don’t understand why I’m getting downvoted.
My guess would be that a lot of people have an understandable dislike of anything that singles out the Democrats as the reason for Trump, as opposed to blaming Trump, the spineless Republicans as a whole, the media, the voters, the Russians, the educational system, the legalized corruption of our government as a whole, or any number of other institutional or individual factors that might have shit the bed and let Hitler come to power in the US. Blaming Democrats is the only target out of those that also depresses support for the most possible likely bulwark against him in our fairly sad system, and often seems to come from suspect sources. But you’re not wrong.
Because, despite the accuracy of your statement, the party members cannot stand criticism or accept that there is room for improvement.
I left the Democratic party. Done. I may continue to vote for the candidates, but I’ve become a DSA member. I want progress, not procrastination.
Anyway, moving on.
Would be nice if we could, but all I’m hearing from Democrats is buck-passing. As if the voters are responsible for the party’s poor electoral game.
So stop giving them the attention they want. If everyone refused to participate in that discussion, the conversation would change.
I’m already excluded from the discussions that actually matter, the ones between voting members of the DNC.
Most of us are excluded from political discussion, by design. We could talk about how to make life difficult for the people who make policy and control the government.
The Orange Turd has a mandate. /s
