I recently meet someone and was going to ask them to describe themselves in a paragraph. I realized I wasn’t able to do it myself. I also wasn’t sure how they would react. I thought I would ask here first and see how you folks react.

I’ll define paragraph as three to four sentences.

I am a suburban mom and business owner. I drive a comically small car. My project management style is hot pink because it is aggressive yet girly.

This is basically a full autobiography. 😉

Now this is fun response!! Others have commented that my question would be to “ick” for lack of better term.

Your answer was another perspective I thought of for this. Light hearted and fun. The person I met seems to have a great sense of humor.

Thank you so much for sharing!!

It easier than describing oneself in a sentence or one word. But it might sound a little bit like an interview question if this is a first date.

True, true, I’m leaning toward not using that question in future conversation.

I appreciate you providing perspective. I was hoping folks from the collective would have different responses / thoughts on this.

I’m a 40 year old woman with very thick dark brown hair with very little gray, pale skin, and a round face with pronounced cheekbones and a dimple chin. My nose is rounded at the end, My eyes are hazel and large, my lips not small or big, I’ve never had Botox or fillers, but my skin is taken fairly good care of. My lips are downturned, so my smile is straight, I’m taller than average, and I have an hourglass shape.

Interesting, I didn’t even think someone would do a literal description… from a physical perspective.

I already know they look like but, yeah, more context is always a good thing.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond!!

A fun writing exercise. I won’t be posting what I wrote for privacy reasons, but just saying thanks for the nudge I needed to introspect after a really weird week.

Is Gradually Adjusting your first/last name? Privacy in a pseudonymous discussion board is kinda guaranteed already! 😅

I looked at it and felt like it was so specific that if you’d ever met me you’d know who had written it. Beyond that there was no value in sharing, so it wasn’t worth the chance of being recognised.

Carefree, sensitive, hyperactive, curious and righteous argumentative monotheist with a complicated childhood and the adult psychological hangups that come with it (handling them has been a moderately succssful WIP). Oh, I’m a multilingual psych major who spent 5 years in the French Foreign Legion too. A bit/very arrogant at times too, according to my wife. 🤷

This is great!! I would like to think my response would be this specific yet, IMO, this witty too.

As long as she’s still your wife, that’s what counts 🙂

Appreciate you taking the time to respond!!!

☹️ I would never ask someone to do something they didn’t want to do.

I also understand that introspection can be a difficult thing. That may be why I can’t really answer this myself.

      You aren’t alone.

Thank you so much sharing too, it actually brings up a point that, the person I met may not feel comfortable responding.

I somehow described myself in two and half sentences, in this discussion. Does that count and is that long enough?
