Is there room for unexpected output to not be treated as malicious? Yes. But absolving them of ALL responsibility means someone can build a malicious AI and claim immunity from responsibility.

Current AI frequently has rails that keep it from spitting out stuff on real people or specific topics like building bombs. The same rails should exist for encouraging suicide.

What I also don’t understand is why he blames the victim (Ukraine) and cozies up to putin. Not even Reagan would have done something like that.

Reagan just blamed domestic victims of systemic racism and bigotry like black and gay people, not other countries!

See the thing is, children are property and hitting children is totally fine because the law hasn’t recognuzed them as people yet. Wives are barely considered people and hitting them only became illegal a few decades ago.

That makes no sense at all. It isn’t like skipping ads results in a black screen for the length of the ad.

People with adblockers aren’t going to see hour long ads or black screens when they don’t see ads in the first place.

They sure skimped on a bunch of other stuff though, like a couple bathroom lights don’t have proper mounting boxes because they didn’t put a 2x4 in the right place and are just mounted to the drywall.

Not having a switched light source makes some sense as most of the rooms in my house had ceiling fans without lights installed, which we switched to fans with lights. There was an extra switch for the light in the ceiling fan that didn’t do anything until we put it in. The switches did go to the lower plug on a couple of outlets, which was fun to figure out since we hadn’t come across it before!

We also have one switch that goes to an outlet about eight foot up on a wall that I assume was for some decoration to make it easier to turn on and off.

Sometimes we have specific plugs that are wired to a wall switch that can be used to turn those specific outlets on and off. All the examples I know of are for standing lamps, so they can be turned on an off like ceiling lights.

I’ve only seen this a few times, including my current house.

Some people took care of meals and the household. That isn’t the kind of work to live that we are talking about because it isn’t directly paid.

Not to mention people with severe injuries or illnesses that can’t do hard labor. Someone with crippling arthritis will still be provided for by the community.

Having more information always shows that existing theories and assumptions have exceptions or more complexity that we just had not come across yet.
