I have and love the UE Roll, fucking little powerhouse 💥

Edit: anyone know of a similar form factor to mine, just want to know what else is out there for redundancy’s sake

I have a mini Jambox (gift) and a JBL Flip.

The Jamboxes (regular and mini) are pretty expensive, and I don’t think I would spend the money, but they are probably THE best I’ve ever heard.

The JBL Flip is a better value, cranks out solid sound, and often gets discounted on sites like Amazon.

Oh, and I’ve had a ton of janky cheapo speakers. They are NEVER worth the couple of bucks they cost.

I rarely use speakers, as my environment is one where I might bother others easily. On the rare occasions that I do, I use some small old USB Logitech speakers from ages back. I have a surround sound speaker setup with subwoofer and such sitting around, but don’t bother to plug it in, since I’m just not going to use it.

I mostly use headphones, though I’ve got an elaborate mass of mixers, sound interfaces, headphones, and multiple clock-synchronized powered mics hooked up to the computer.

I will say that small speakers have come a hell of a long way since the 1990s, when I remember them consistently sounding kind of tinny. They pretty much all sound great to me today.

You’re really missing out on what you can get the sound to make you feel, like actual feel and sense from just sound that is strategically modulated.

My airpods are fantasic but they can’t really shake/rock your world the way even a proper portable speaker can bust out. Its like that famous old guy in the chair being blasted by his sound system

        a) Maxell

        b) No “portable speaker” compares to the fidelity of a wired stereo system. it’s like arguing which is the healthiest junk food

        c) DOSS Soundbox XL

        d) get off my lawn

JBL Charge 4, great sound, big battery, form factor is just about perfect. Charge 5 is too big. My bike crew rides at night, and many of us have Bluetooth speakers, all playing different music at the same time. We’ve started referring to it as The Cacophony.

Me and some friends needed to buy at around the same time, so we ended up buying the Wonderboom ones. The fact that you could sync them together and have stereo speakers placed at different locations gave them quite the trick at parties, BBQs etc.

JBL barrels do an excellent job. Great range and especially has low end that bumps. They’re basically the modern walkman.

Minirig 3. Sooo great. Battery life, sound, portability - all 5/5. Even can link to to create real stereo. Best device I’ve bought in this compartment. Like ever.

I have a soundcore motion+ hanging above my head for audiobooks and podcasts while I fall asleep. It has a pleasant and full sound that’s not harsh like most of the BT speakers I’ve experienced.
